๐๐ชป๐A fabulous new scent magazine has launched, with some familiar and beloved faces behind it. On The Scent is the kind of magazine you should take time out to leaf through in leisurely fashion. It’s cover to cover fragrance with fascinating articles, full page colour ads and photos for a shiver of glamour and longing and a proper nose (pun intended) behind the scenes to meet perfumers and smell what they’re up to.

There’s also a cute little guide of how to do a perfume tour of London. I don’t think I’ll be sitting on the Clive Christian boutique’s silver sofa seats, but it’s nice to know it’s there. What I WILL be doing, is visiting the Elsa Schiaparelli exhibit at the V&A. Jo Fairley has a beautiful treasure hunting tale to tell about Schiaparelli Shocking, and everyone needs a love story these days.

There’s a deep dive into dupes from one of my favourite perfumers and people, Pia Long, who I hope to see at The Barnes Fragrance Fair next month. TLDR- dupes are not good. Dupes are piracy.

With contributions from Jasmine winners Amanda Carr(who founded the Barnes Fragrance Fair) and writer Alice du Parq, and fan favourites Suzy Nightingale and Nicola Bonn of the award winning podcast that gave the magazine its name, this is a thumping good read.
With Jo Fairley editing, a role she’s been doing since the age of 23 when she headed up Look Now magazine, you can be assured there’s clout enough to attract the big names like moths to a flame, or me to a perfume sale. Sharon Whiting is all over the brand partnerships and I am especially fond of her as she gave me a press pass at last year’s Barnes Fragrance Fair (I’m easily pleased, and still have it!).

There’s print copies too, at ยฃ10 each- the perfect coffee table magazine.
Here’s the link– yes it’s FREE to read online. Get stuck in and get inspired. I’m already doing my To Sniff List for my next London trip. The one after the Barnes Fragrance Fair, that is.
