The Perfume Society Seasonal Scent Box Autumn

The Perfume Society Seasonal Scent Box: Autumn

Autumn is my favourite time of year. No more humidity or stickiness. I’m embracing the changing of seasons and that includes my perfume choices.

I’m a #SeasonalScenter a.k.a a subscriber to The Perfume Society Seasonal Scent Boxes. September 1st couldn’t arrive fast enough for me, for that’s when the Autumn box was delivered, and what a cosy feast for the senses it is!

Here’s what’s in it:

  1. Connock England Kukui EDP
  2. Connock England Kukui Noir EDP
  3. Elie Saab Le Parfum
  4. Goutal Eau d’Hadrien
  5. Initio Power Self
  6. Maison Crivelli Infrarouge
  7. Memoize London Levatio
  8. Montblanc Explorer Extrême
  9. Parfums de Marly Greenley
  10. Skinsense Ceramide24 Recovery Support Night Cream

A full-sized review of each and every fragrance would take up abut ten pages, so I’m giving you the bite size digest, since these are bite size samples (between 1.5 and 2mls).

First off, there are some posh ones in here that I could never afford in the full-size version. Parfums de Marly Greenley is the first example. However, I could enjoy probably two scented evenings from the sample spray alone. It’s strong stuff, and a little goes a long way, but if you like your fragrances green, then this is green in neon lights and multiple layers.  Personally, I love it, and I’ll take two evenings of it if that’s what I can afford.

Close on its heels comes luxury brand Initio Parfums Prives with Power Self, which smells like falling asleep in a bed of pink rose petals with a fluffy white pillow.  The roses are exquisite, and smell so real.

Connock England has two offerings: Kukui and Kukui Noir. The former is a delightful white floral, abundant enough to make it onto any wedding day wish list. It smells of lilies, tuberose and pure while tulle. The Noir version is rather different. It’s a floral intro leading to an oud scented hug, warmed with sandalwood and patchouli. It’s the leather-jacketed biker chick version of Kukui, or should that be biker chic?

Two trusty classics are included in this inviting selection: Elie Saab Le Parfum (orange flower magnified and then tamed with honey and patchouli) and Goutal Eau d’Hadrien, an 80s ground breaker in its days, being a deceptively simple citrus fragrance among the Dynasty shoulder pads of Opium, Poison and Giorgio Beverly Hills.

Memoize London hits the spot again with Levatio. Why does it make me want a gin and tonic? That’ll be the juniper. This manages to be both astringent and cosy, teamed as it is with orris, moss and vetiver.

Join me by the fireplace as I spray Maison Crivelli Cuir Infrarouge. This one lingers through wood smoke and leather, with nuances of oud and cosy vanilla.

Let’s not overlook Montblanc Explorer Extreme. This is one of the cleanest fragrances I have ever smelled. It’s the scent of someone who has showered, shampooed and brushed their sparklingly minty teeth, all at once. It’s date night ready.

All this sniffing is hard work, so I am looking forward to slathering on the Skinsense  Ceramide24 Recovery Support Night cream from the 25ml tube included in the box.

My verdict? This is a well curated selection of autumn goodies that makes me sigh with contentment and enjoy the cooler weather. My favourite? Probably Connock England Kukui and Initio Parfums Prives Power Self.  Even in autumn, I like to be surrounded by flowers, don’t you?
