Cacharel Ella Ella by Dominique Ropion 2025

Cacharel Ella Ella is cleverly named. It’s boomed in popularity as a girls’ name and the temptation to buy someone a perfume that bears their name, will never get old.

In 2025, thousands of teens called Ella may be getting this on birthdays, Christmas and for “prom” which is now a UK thing, having received the baton from our US cousins.

Ella Ella was created by Dominique Ropion, who has already had a name check this week (see Lancôme La Vie Est Belle Vanille Nude). The two fragrances have both a creator and scent notes in common, which leads me to think that white flowers and vanilla are here to stay. Not groundbreaking, no, but perfectly pleasant. Brownie points for being Cacharel’s first refillable fragrance.

In a beautiful bottle visited by a butterfly, Ella Ella opens with creamy coconut kept light with citrussy bergamot. The effect is pleasingly summery and when the orange blossom and jasmine sambac start blooming around everywhere, you have a warm weather hit on your hands. The coconut lingers all the way through, and even a coconut dodger might find something to enjoy here, fusing as it does with the airy white petals. A warm ending is embraced in the arms of cosy bourbon vanilla and the familiarity of patchouli, which sits at the back, rather than overtaking.

A fragrance crafted for women who seek to break free, evolve, and unveil the most radiant version of themselves.

– a note from the brand

Overall, this is a pleasing summery white floral with the ever popular solar accord making it perfect for warm days and evenings. It would pass the commuter test too, i.e. would it empty a train carriage if you wore it to work? Answer, no, it wouldn’t, which is kind of what we’re aiming for. As much as I love perfume, we should all leave room for other people to wear theirs too. If your name is Ella, I’m pretty sure someone will buy you this, and you will smell fabulous.

Where to buy it

You can buy Cacharel Ella Ella from Notino, which is where I purchased my sample from, using their Discovery Box pages. The price is currently £47 for 30ml.
