Avon Perfect Nonsense Choco Tuberose

What were they thinking in the Avon Think Tank? They were in playful mood, for sure when the off the wall Perfect Nonsense range was cooked up. Stick some bamboo in a gin and tonic? Peppers and peaches together? Dark chocolate and heady white Look-At-Me tuberose? Well, it may have been by design or it may have been serendipity, but the Avon Perfect Nonsense range is for people who will wear a hat they love even if it’s the wrong colour or season, just because they love the hat.

Roping in the talents of IFF (International Flavour & Fragrance inc), Avon let the cards fall in seemingly random but oh-so-right places and what we end up with is an original and fun collection of highly wearable eaux de toilettes.

Today I’m going to sing the praises of Avon Perfect Nonsense Choco Tuberose.  This is not the first time chocolate and white florals, or even tuberose, have been teamed together. There are many in your local Fragrance Shop that already have this combo, but are maybe more lyrical about it, with pretty bottles and alluring names.

Avon Perfect nonsense Choco Tuberose is interesting for two reasons. Firstly, it’s affordable. At this price point, it doesn’t last all day, but a welcome top up spray at lunchtime is always fun. Secondly, it features a note unique to IFF and I will quote them when it comes to describing it. It is Cosmo Fruit ™(IFF). Here’s what they say about it;

“”Cosmofruit is a *readily biodegradable molecule, exclusive to IFF perfumers. It’s a complex ingredient, a yummy, caramelized apple in a tarte tatin; with floral notes, and the rosy soothing feel of damascone.“

Cosmo Fruit ™ does what it says it will and adds a caramelly fruity note to the dark chocolate, elevating the tuberose to a prettier and less haughty bouquet, not afraid of getting chocolate fingerprints on her white silk petals.

Not being a gourmand fan, I wasn’t sure this would be for me, but I can firmly state that, yes, this is for me. It’s mine, and I’m keeping it.
