Adscenture Secret Garden Extrait de Parfum (2023)

Adscenture Secret Garden

If you’re looking for a summer scent that gets you compliments, then you have arrived at your destination. As you can imagine, I have many fragrances and tend to wear them on rotation. I won this bottle during National Fragrance Week back in March and decided the warm weather merited a summery floral. Within minutes of arriving at work, I had two compliments on my fragrance. Being warm, we had fans on, so I was wafting Adscenture Summer Garden around the office and getting a very positive reception.

My bottle in a pleasingly damp British garden.

Summer Garden makes me think of tuberose and tiare flower. That’s because there’s coconut in it, and coconut reminds me of both of these heady, creamy blooms. If you love a perfume note enough, your nose can often find it., even if it’s not there. I often find liquorice, tuberose and violets where there are none.  The heart wants what the heart wants.

A collage of Secret Garden notes by me.

Coconuts, peach, frangipani and ylang ylang may sound more tropical than British heatwave, but trust me, it really works. It’s not sticky or juicy like a Peach Bellini or a Pina Colada, but ripe and redolent like a flower head on its last scorching day before it blooms itself limp.  Now weave in some musky vanilla and sensual woods, and you’re getting a good picture of what Adscenture Secret Garden is like. Staying power is off the scale; it passed the pillow test the next morning, but then, this is an extrait de parfum, so longevity is its super power.

Each fragrance in the collection has its own unique illustration

There’s a freshness to these creamy, peachy woods that makes you feel freshly shampooed and showered, with maybe just a light dusting of powder. It leaves little wafts of clean scent as you move, and your clothes smell nice the next day.

Adscenture was established in 2023by Holly Hutchinson, founder of Memoize. Add scent to adventure and voilà! The brand works in collaboration with perfumers Tristan Badard and Elodie Durande. Judging by the beauty of Adscenture Summer Garden, I’d say, keep going Holly! You’ve got a winning team.
