Pixi Mimosa visual

Pixi does Perfume: PixiMimosa (and friends)

Pixi has been a cult favourite skincare brand for many years now, much associated with the “Pixi Glow.”  My radar for beauty products is not as twitchy as my perfume radar, so until I received a recent Beauty Bible newsletter, I was unaware that Pixi does perfume now. Not only are there three Pixi perfumes, but the perfumer behind them is none other than Maestra Lynn Harris, formerly of Miller Harris, and now creator/founder of the revered Perfumer H. I’ll give you a third reason why I bought it: it’s fifteen quid for a handbag size spray.

There are three in the collection, PixiFig, PixiMimosa and PixiRose. I chose PixiMimosa to start with, but I will be working my way around them all in time. Mimosa is just what you need in January. When it feels like it must surely be the Eighty Fourth Day of January and the weather is as grey as Eeyore’s belly, mimosa is Just the Thing.

Fluffy, yellow, and full of optimistic spring vibes, the sight and smell of mimosa cheers the soul. Yellow florals have a subtle honeyed warmth, and in this case, it leaves a powdery , fluffy drydown that makes you feel as if you’ve been stroked by a pollen dusted pussy willow. With a leafy blend of pear, amber and hawthorn, this gentle awakening contains a hint of spring violet, evoking yellow and purple blooms galore, both olfactively and in the mind’s eye.

Each of the three fragrances comes in a pretty twist up pale green travel atomizer. I pressed “Add to basket” as soon as I read that Lynn Harris made them. Lynn was a founder of Miller Harris, although she has long since gone solo with Perfumer H. The other two fragrances in the collection are PixiRose and PixiFig.  I was sent a complimentary sample of PixiFig with my purchase and I can report that it is absolutely gorgeous, probably the best perfume you will ever buy for such a small price.

Lynn Harris’s earlier works include Miller Harris L’Air de Rien, Rose Silence and my beloved Le Pamplemousse. If you lie in wait, you sometimes find them in TK Maxx these days. Meanwhile, Lynn Harris’s brand Perfumer H goes from strength to strength and her influence in the fragrance industry is both admired and respected.

PixiMimosa is worth your time, and the coffret of all three scents is unbeatable value for this calibre of scent. All fragrances in the collection are vegan and cruelty free.

Where to Buy It

You can buy PixiMimosa from the Pixi website for £15 for 15ml. The coffret of three is just £30.

Disclosure

I paid for this myself and have no affiliation with Pixi or Lynn Harris. Opinions are always my own.
