4160 Tuesdays Court of Ravens is a perfume from the Hammermsith collection that consists of Brackenbury, and Hammersmith Tea & Biscuits. Its creator, and 4160 Tuesdays founder, Sarah McCartney, was inspired by her move to her current premises at 42A Raynham Road, Hammersmith, and wanted to capture her new neighbourhood in scent.

I fell hard for Court of Ravens, which could not be named Ravenscourt after the nearby park for some legal reason, so the name was changed to the rather Gothic sounding Court of Ravens.
This is one of my all-time favourites from any house in any genre. Deep, velvety crimson roses, rich incense, and glorious, earthy patchouli. Sometimes you can’t smell your own perfume after a while, but at 6 am the day after I spray it, I still had lovely, rosy nuances on my pillow. It has a subtle, but noticeable hint of inner thigh after a crafty night of passion with a ne’er do well. You can wear whatever you like when you spray this, but in my opinion, red lipstick is essential to bring out the je ne sais quoi. It is this elusive sexy as-heck-note that elevates Court of Ravens from a voluptuous, earthy rose to a nostalgic smirk on your face when you’re older and everyone underestimates you and thinks that they alone invented love. I call it the COR factor.

It’s sophisticated and glamorous but you don’t have to be. I wear it for errands and chores so that I can pretend I’m somewhere else, having adventures, whilst loading the dishwasher in my hometown of Cwmbran.
In Welsh, Cwmbran means valley of the crows. It nearly means Court of Ravens, but with more roundabouts. None of that matters when you smell great and your head’s in the clouds, living a rich inner life full of lipstick and ravens. I’m glad that Sarah couldn’t use Ravenscourt because my only memory of Ravenscourt Park is that time I sat down there and shared a bag of cheese and onion crisps with a squirrel, and I’m not sure anyone would want a bottle of that.
